Beryl and Gigi are foster friends who build each others’ confidence. They are both a little shy and find comfort with each other.
Beryl is a black short-haired young boy who is smaller and slimmer in build than his foster friends. He wants to be petted, but just can’t quite bring himself into accepting petting for the first week he is with you. After the shyness has worn off, he will rub against your leg and look to be petted. He can be picked up, but only for short periods of time. He also adores a feather wand toy and will play until he pants! He appears to be fine with other cats. He will most likely get along with kids and dogs if provided slow and proper introductions.
Gigi is a young, black and white long-haired beautiful girl that is extremely shy and timid at first. She doesn’t mind being brushed and can be picked up and held, but only for short periods of time. She likes to be on a scratching post with platforms when she feels comfortable. She loves being petted and having her chin scratched. For now, she is quiet and not interested in playing with toys, but rather in being pampered. She was kept for a few days by herself at first, but she responded best (more relaxed) when placed with other foster cats her foster friend Beryl. In her new home, she will need a smaller area with a cozy spot or two where she can feel secure for a while. After several days of getting used to new surroundings (allow at least a week), she should start to relax and purr. She will do best in a quiet household with a person who has time, patience, can approach her quietly and who can maintain her silky soft fur.
Gigi was born approximately June 1, 2021, and Beryl was born approximately May 1, 2021. Their combined adoption fee $275, which includes $20 each for a microchip. They are neutered/spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see these sweethearts at our adoption center this weekend!
